‘ It's like weaving with light, warp and woof ’
Op touw
audiovisual art installation — 2020
My research to explore combinations of materials with light, led me to ask the question what would happen when you combine many kilometers of rope with tailor made projections. It resulted in the audiovisual installation Op touw.
At the intersection of the tangible and the intangible, a new interplay of patterns emerges. Rope and light are sometimes parallel, sometimes perpendicular. It's like weaving with light, warp and woof.
Various responses from exhibition visitors
Grandeur! – Nicole Roepers (curator of contemporary art, Museum De Lakenhal)
Impressive. Absolutely beautiful! – Sandrine van Noort (curator, LUMC Gallery)
We witnessed crackling beauty. – Tijs Huys (theater maker)
A bizarrely powerful / beautiful installation. – Piet Franzen (visual artist)
